Important EU change from 2026: New Product Liability Directive (PLD) The European Union has comprehensively modernized the Product Liability Directive (PLD). For the first time, digital products, software, SaaS services, and online shop systems are explicitly included in the scope of liability. Implementation into national law must be completed by December 9, 2026.
